Scholarships Worth Rs 14.87 Lakh Distributed to Families of Deceased Police Personnel

Hyderabad : Additional Director General of Police Abhilasha Bisht distributed scholarships to the children of deceased police personnel at an event held at the DGP’s office on Friday. These scholarships, provided by HDFC Bank under their “Parivarthan” initiative, have supported 151 individuals over the past three years, with 58 scholarships awarded this academic year alone. During the event, cheques totaling Rs 14.87 lakh were distributed by Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA) Director and In-charge Welfare, Additional DGP Abhilasha Bisht.

The “Parivarthan” scholarships cover education costs from LKG to postgraduate studies for children from families of deceased police personnel. Additionally, HDFC Bank officials disclosed that Rs 3.75 crore has been disbursed to the families of 11 Home Guards who had accounts with the bank and died accidentally, and Rs 4.44 crore to the families of 16 deceased police personnel. The program also saw the participation of HDFC Senior Vice President Vishal Bhatia, Deputy Vice President Satyanarayana Rao, Welfare Liaison Officer Srinivas Reddy, among others.
