Safety First: Rachakonda Police Deploy 6,000 Personnel for Ganesh Immersion

Hyderabad(Sep, 26) : Rachakonda Commissioner of Police DS Chauhan, IPS, has outlined stringent security measures and preparations in place to ensure a peaceful Ganesh idol immersion process. Addressing the media, CP Chauhan emphasized the significance of Vinayaka Chaturthi in their jurisdiction, noting that this year saw a record number of Ganesh idols compared to previous years. Months of preparation and coordination with various departments have gone into making the event safe and well-organized.

CP Chauhan highlighted the completion of road and electrical works, urging administrators to exercise caution with electricity connections. Meetings with Ganesh Mandapa management were conducted to gather suggestions and facilitate smoother immersion arrangements. This year, an intimation form was introduced to keep track of the number of idols, their installation duration, and immersion locations.

In terms of logistics, mobile cranes have been deployed to lift larger idols, with plans in place for crane operators’ shifts. A total of 56 ponds have been prepared for immersion, ensuring traffic flow remains unhindered. Security measures include constables and home guards for larger idols and 228 picket areas across the commissionerate.

Furthermore, facilities such as mobile toilets, ambulances, and medical teams have been arranged to cater to devotees’ needs. RTC mechanics and drivers have been organized to ensure their availability. Surveillance is being conducted through approximately 3600 CC cameras, with command control centers established in strategic locations.

To manage security effectively, 6,000 police personnel have been assigned to Vinayaka immersion duties, with an additional 1,000 personnel brought in from districts. Traffic restrictions will be in place in certain areas under the commissionerate’s jurisdiction during the immersion, and the public is advised to remain vigilant while on the roads. These comprehensive measures are aimed at ensuring a smooth and secure Ganesh idol immersion experience for all participants.
