Hyderabad: In a series of significant operations, the law enforcement authorities in Rachakonda have made noteworthy strides in curbing criminal activities. The collaborative efforts of the Special Operations Teams (SOT) from both the Maheshwaram and LB Nagar Zones, along with local police, have led to commendable arrests and the dismantling of criminal networks.
In the first instance, a joint operation by the SOT Maheshwaram Zone and Adibatla Police resulted in the apprehension of an interstate drug peddler named Mahender Singh. Under Case No. 376/2023, Singh was caught with 2.25 kilograms of opium and a mobile phone, estimated to be worth Rs. 10 Lakhs in the international market. Investigations revealed his involvement in cultivating and supplying opium, exploiting the vulnerability of local communities for illicit gains.
In another swift action, the SOT LB Nagar Zone collaborated with Vanasthalipuram Police to apprehend two chain snatchers mere hours after they committed the crime. With a gold chain, a stolen Honda Activa, and incriminating evidence recovered, the operation underscored the rapid response of law enforcement to maintain public safety.
Furthermore, the SOT LB Nagar Zone, in conjunction with Chaitanyapuri Police, successfully apprehended an interstate drug peddler named Deepa Ram Bishnoi. Operating under Case No. 676/2023, the accused was seized with 70 grams of contraband substance heroin, 30 grams of MDMA, and other items valued at Rs. 60 Lakhs in the international market. Bishnoi’s illicit activities spanned drug procurement, transport, and distribution, highlighting the intricate web of drug trafficking.
These successful operations stand as a testament to the dedication of the Rachakonda Police, led by Commissioner D S Chauhan-IPS, in ensuring public safety and combatting various forms of crime in the region.
