Hyderabad(Sep, 6): Rachakonda Police Commissioner, DS Chauhan, IPS, conducted a high-stakes review meeting with his dedicated team to ensure a smooth and secure celebration of the upcoming Ganesh festival, set to commence on the 18th of this month. Emphasizing the festival’s immense significance in the state, Commissioner Chauhan urged for peaceful and grand festivities, underscoring the need for meticulous planning in Ganesha idol installations and immersion processes. He stressed the importance of upholding law and order during the celebrations and encouraged close collaboration with civic departments to guarantee a harmonious atmosphere.
Commissioner Chauhan also directed the Rachakonda Police officials involved in managing the Ganesh Navratri celebrations to hold coordination meetings with various government departments, including GHMC, Fire Department, Water Drainage Department, Medical Department, Electricity, and Transport. Politeness and vigilance were encouraged among the staff attending to immersion procedures, with a strong focus on visible policing and the prompt response to emergency calls via the Dial 100 helpline.
In compliance with Supreme Court orders, limitations on speaker use and the prohibition of DJ arrangements in mandapams were highlighted. Safety measures, such as the presence of dedicated volunteers, quality wiring, and clear contact information at Ganesh mandapams, were emphasized to prevent electrical accidents and disruptions. Commissioner Chauhan called for the meticulous documentation of inspection reports near each Ganesh mandapam and increased security in potential trouble spots.
Commissioner Chauhan appealed to the public for cooperation in celebrating Ganesh Utsav grandly and peacefully while cautioning against false rumors on social media, with the promise of legal action against rumor mongers. Extensive planning for immersion, including personnel deployment, crane usage, lighting, and CCTV installations, was endorsed to ensure the uninterrupted organization of the Ganesh Shobhayatra.
