MLC Kavitha Expresses Disappointment with Sonia Gandhi Over Women’s Reservation Bill

Hyderabad(Sep, 6): BRS MLC and Former Member of Parliament Kalvakuntla Kavitha has strongly expressed her disappointment towards Congress Party senior leader and former President Sonia Gandhi for failing to address the pressing issue of the Women’s Reservation Bill in her recent letter to the Prime Minister. In a tweet, MLC Kavitha expressed her disappointment, saying, “Saddened to see that the urgency for discussing the Women’s Reservation Bill was completely ignored in Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson and MP Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji’s letter to the Prime Minister.”

In her letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sonia Gandhi outlined nine crucial issues, but notably absent was any mention of the Women’s Reservation Bill. Kavitha questioned this omission, stating, “Isn’t women’s representation a national imperative? Mrs. Gandhi, the nation awaits your powerful advocacy for gender equality.”

MLC Kavitha’s appeal for the Women’s Reservation Bill, yet again gained nationwide attention yesterday when she urged all political parties to unite and support a more inclusive democracy. Her letter was sent to the heads of 47 parties with representation in Parliament including the Indian National Congress, and her call received widespread support from leaders across the political spectrum.

However, the absence of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Sonia Gandhi’s letter to the Prime Minister today has left many disappointed and perplexed. Former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha continues to champion the cause of women’s empowerment and gender equality, emphasizing the importance of women’s representation in the Indian Parliament.
