Hyderabad : Methodist College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) proudly celebrated the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on Tuesday, under the esteemed leadership of K. Krishna Rao, Correspondent, MCET. The event aimed to promote yoga for well-being and holistic development among students and faculty.
This significant event has been recognized as one of the G20 events under the “JAN BHAGIDARI” initiative, organized in educational institutions, aligning with the directives of the Ministry of Education. The primary objective is to educate the youth about G20 and understand their expectations from India’s presidency. This event perfectly aligns with our Honorable Prime Minister’s vision of making India’s G20 presidency people’s participation-centric.
The yoga sessions at MCET were conducted by certified Yoga Trainers, Bharath Ram and Vignatha, from Sudeha – Fitness through Yoga. Their expertise ensured that more than 100 faculty and students could actively participate in the Yoga Day celebrations. The sessions focused on demonstrating basic yoga techniques to reduce stress and promote overall well-being. Additionally, more than 30 yoga students of Sudeha performed yoga activities at the end of the program, showcasing their skills and dedication.
The Yoga Day celebrations took place on 20th June 2023, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, at the Seminar Hall, D Block. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the Principal, Director, and teaching and non-teaching faculty members.
