New Delhi(July, 4) : In a significant political development, G Kishan Reddy, Member of Parliament and Union Minister, has been chosen to lead the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming elections in Telangana. He will be replacing Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who previously held the position. This leadership change comes as the party gears up for the highly anticipated Telangana assembly polls.
Another notable appointment is that of Eatala Rajender, a BJP MLA and the former finance minister of Telangana. Rajender has been assigned the crucial role of Chairman of the BJP’s state election management committee for the upcoming assembly polls. This move highlights the party’s strategic approach and emphasis on effective campaign management.
In a significant addition to the party’s leadership in Andhra Pradesh, Daggubati Purandeswari has been appointed as the President of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the BJP. Purandeswari, the daughter of the late NT Rama Rao, the founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, brings her political lineage and experience to the forefront as she takes on this key role.
Moreover, Kiran Kumar Reddy, who served as the last Chief Minister of the United Andhra Pradesh before the formation of Telangana state, has been appointed as a member of the BJP’s national executive committee. This appointment showcases the party’s inclusivity and recognition of leaders with diverse political backgrounds.
With these new appointments and the reshaping of leadership roles, the BJP aims to strengthen its position in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These strategic moves reflect the party’s commitment to regional politics and its ambition to expand its footprint in southern India. As the assembly polls draw closer, these leadership changes will shape the party’s campaign strategy and determine its course in these politically significant states.
