Chandigarh : Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. The actress-turned-politician was traveling to New Delhi just days after her victory in the Lok Sabha elections from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency.
The CISF woman constable involved, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, has been suspended. An FIR is being registered against the constable at Chandigarh Airport based on a written complaint by CISF officials. Additionally, the CISF has lodged a complaint with the local police.
“A CISF personnel hit me on my face and hurled abuses. When I asked why she did that, she said she supported the farmers’ protests. I am safe, but I am concerned about rising extremism and terrorism in Punjab,” the BJP leader said in a video.

Meanwhile, the CISF constable explained that her mother was among the farmers protesting against the farm laws, which have now been repealed.
“Kangana Ranaut said that the farmers are sitting there for ₹100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she made this statement,” the constable said.

Farmers protested for 15 months against the now-repealed farm laws and other issues.
This incident has sparked widespread discussions on social media, with many expressing concern over the escalating tensions between political figures and the public. The farm laws, which were a point of contention, continue to evoke strong emotions even after their repeal.
