Inclusivity and Faith: Muslim Devotee’s 1984 Legacy Continues with Golden Lotuses

Tirupati Temple Receives Ornate Gift of 108 Golden Lotuses from Devotee

Tirupati(Sep, 6 ) : In a heartfelt gesture, a devotee named Raja Reddy, hailing from Kadapa district, made a significant donation at the Tirumala Tirupati temple. On Wednesday, he contributed a total of 108 golden lotuses to Lord Venkateswara. These exquisite lotuses were crafted by Kiran Kumar, the Managing Director and owner of Lalitha Jewellery, and he disclosed that they were produced at a cost of Rs 2 crore.

The purpose of this generous donation is expected to be for the Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana ritual. Interestingly, this act is reminiscent of a similar offering made by a Muslim devotee from Guntur back in 1984 when they also donated 108 golden lotuses to Lord Venkateswara. Since then, these golden lotuses have been utilized in special Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana ceremonies held every Tuesday, signifying the temple’s inclusivity and the devotion of its diverse visitors.
