Hyderabad(June, 5): On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao planted a sapling at Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority’s (HMDA) layout Neopolis in Kokapet on Monday afternoon. Founder of Green India Challenge & Member of Parliament J Santosh Kumar and Director of Urban Forests Dr. B. Prabhakar planted the sapling presented by the Chief Minister. Three year old 7.5 feet ‘Ponna’ sapling grown in Tellapur HMDA nursery was fertilized with old vermicompost and watered by CM KCR.
CM KCR called upon the people to promote greenery and make environmental protection measures a part of their daily lives. CM made it clear that due to human mistakes humanity has reached the stage of buying water and oxygen which are part of five elements, we should not forget the truth that if we protect nature then nature will protect us.
The event was attended by MP K Keshav Rao, ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Prashanth Reddy, founder of Green India Challenge and MP J Santosh Kumar, HMDA officials and others.
