FATHER IN LAW GOT 05 YEARS IMPRISONMENT CONVICTION IN DOWRY DEATH CASE. CR. NO. 41/2017 U/S 498(A),304(B) IPC & Sec 3 & 4 DP Act OF GUNDALA PS, RACHAKONDA
Hyderabad(May 29)Â : Andem Madhavi is married to Andem Narasireddy was on 05.06.2011. At the time of marriage her parents gave Rs 1,20,000/- as dowry, gold and silver ornaments, during their marriage they were blessed with two male children. The accused Andem Sathireddy (father-in-law of the deceased) used to physically and mentally torture his daughter after 3 years of marriage for bringing additional dowry. Due to the acts of the accused, the deceased put her life in danger, on 24-07-2017 at about 1230 hrs her daughter poured kerosene on her, set her on fire and got injured. Immediately she was shifted to Area Hospital, Jangaon, later she was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for better treatment, during treatment she succumbed to burn injuries on 25-07-2017.
Basing on the above complaint a case was registered at GUNDALA PS. During the course of investigation, IO collected the evidence and arrested the accused and remanded them to judicial custody and filed Charge Sheet.
During the trial today i.e., 29.05.2023 the PDJ Court at Bhongir Convicted the accused A2 Andem Sathireddy S/o Ramreddy Age 70 yrs Occ. coolie all are R/o Nunegudem, Gundala, Jangoan District to undergo 05 Years Rigors Imprisonment conviction and imposed fine of Rs 20,000/.
In this case the IO ACP P. Sanjeeva Rao now retired from service, Addl. PP. G.Srinivas Reddy, CDO T. Edukondalu PC 4319 of Gundala PS have attended on behalf of prosecution.
CP Rachakonda D S Chauhan-IPS, and Joint CP V. Satyanarayana-IPS, appreciated the IO, CDO and Addl. PP for their efforts in getting the conviction to the accused and announced rewards to them.
