“Crackdown on Fake Doctors: SOT Malkajgiri and Medipally Police Uncover Impersonation and Seize Incriminating Evidence”

Hyderabad(June, 20 ) : In a significant operation led by the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Malkajgiri, in collaboration with the Medipally Police, two individuals posing as doctors have been apprehended for their fraudulent activities. The accused, Giridhar Lal Srivastava, also known as Dr. Giridhar S, and his wife Sulekha Rani Srivastava, were operating multiple clinics in various locations across Hyderabad without valid certificates. The raid conducted on 20th June 2023 resulted in the discovery of fake medical certificates and other incriminating articles in their possession.

The case, registered under Cr. No. 618/2013 U/s 417, 420, 465, 468 IPC and Section 15(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 at Medipally Police Station, Rachakonda, sheds light on the deceptive practices employed by the accused duo. Giridhar Lal Srivastava, aged 53, hails from Warangal District and had acquired a degree in B.E.M.S from Jalgaon Pune in Maharashtra in 1992. Although the authenticity of his degree is yet to be verified, he utilized his knowledge in homeopathy to work as an assistant for different doctors, ultimately devising a plan to deceive unsuspecting patients for financial gain.

The investigation revealed that Giridhar Lal Srivastava had established multiple clinics in Hyderabad since 1994, including locations such as M.S Maktha, Kairathabad, Manikeshwar Nagar, and near OU camps. He had also worked as an assistant to duty doctors at prominent medical institutions like Care Hospital in Nampally, Karthik Clinic in Kachiguda, and Sanjivini Clinic at Fever Hospital in Hyderabad. Furthermore, he had been involved in assisting Prof. Dr. Siraj at Deccan College of Medical Science and Prof. Dr. Shiva Rama Krishna at Shadhan College of Medical Science. Giridhar Lal Srivastava had even participated in free health camps organized by the Sri Sathya Sai Trust on Shivam Road in Hyderabad.

Sulekha Rani Srivastava, Giridhar’s wife, who hails from Hyderabad, discontinued her B.S.C studies at Bhavans New Science College in 1996. Following her marriage to Giridhar Lal Srivastava in 1997, she became an accomplice in the fraudulent activities. Sulekha Rani Srivastava worked at various clinics, posing as an MBBS doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology at Balaji Clinic in Amberpet’s Red Building. She also worked as a medical consultant at Shridi Sai Trust on Shivam Road in Nallakunta and as a medical consultant with the “Help Hyderabad Organization.”

Presently, the couple operates Sri Venkateshwara Sai Clinic in Rekha Pharma Medical Store at West Balaji Hills, Boduppal, SVS Clinic in Padmavathi Colony in Uppal, and Akshaya KBR Poly Clinic at Shalibanda X Road in Hyderabad. By falsely presenting themselves as qualified MBBS and MD doctors through display boards, they have endangered the lives of unsuspecting patients. To evade scrutiny from authorities and maximize their earnings, they frequently shift their clinics from one location to another.

The arrests made in this case were carried out under the direct supervision of Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, DS Chauhan-IPS, and the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri.
