Hyderabad :Â Dr. Dasoju Sravan, a senior leader, has strongly criticized Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief and Member of Parliament, Revanth Reddy, for his disparaging remarks and attempts to obstruct Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s CM Breakfast Scheme. Dr. Sravan condemned Revanth Reddy, describing him as a feudal and affluent politician who dismisses the importance of providing breakfast to underprivileged children as a waste of public expenditure. In an open letter addressed to Revanth Reddy, Dr. Sravan emphasized the significance of the CM Breakfast Scheme in ensuring the education and empowerment of children from marginalized communities, including SC, ST, BCs, and minorities.
Dr. Sravan expressed dismay at Revanth Reddy’s criticism, stating that while Chief Minister K Chandrashekara Rao is committed to providing breakfast to schoolchildren to prevent 23 lakh children from being deprived of education and health, Revanth Reddy seems unable to comprehend the noble intentions behind this initiative. Dr. Sravan further pointed out that the Congress party had never implemented such a scheme during its decades in power and criticized Revanth Reddy’s jealousy-driven criticism of the CM Breakfast Scheme.
He argued that while breakfast may seem trivial to Revanth Reddy, it is a lifeline for millions of disadvantaged children, helping to reduce dropouts and ensuring that all school-age children attend school rather than becoming child laborers. Dr. Sravan commended CM KCR for transformative initiatives that empower the downtrodden and improve government schools’ infrastructure, teacher quality, and the provision of nutritious meals. He warned that students from marginalized sections attending government schools would teach a lesson to Revanth Reddy for his stance on the CM Breakfast Scheme.
Dr. Sravan also highlighted CM KCR’s efforts to enhance the Mid-Day Meal Scheme and ensure adequate nutrition for students, pregnant women, and lactating mothers through the Arogya Lakshmi scheme. He concluded by condemning Revanth Reddy’s politicization of a scheme aimed at addressing the hunger of lakhs of children and expressed confidence that the people of Telangana would reject such divisive politics and re-elect CM KCR for a third consecutive term
