Medak(May, 19) :Additional Collector of Local bodies Pratima Singh instructed the officials of the Municipal Corporation to run a special cleaning program in the wards of the Municipal Corporation on Friday in the 18th Ward Gandhi Nagar. Flagged off cleanliness activities.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the municipal director has issued guidelines that programs should be carried out in all the wards as per the schedule with special emphasis on sanitation programs in the municipal areas from 19th to 27th May, before the rainy season to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
The Municipal Commissioner has been advised to direct the workers to undertake sanitation programs for cleanliness in each ward. Mainly, the side drains should be cleaned so that dirty water can flow smoothly and garbage should be removed, thorny bushes should be removed from dines and roadsides, public toilets should be cleaned and waste should be removed from meat shops. Similarly, it is advised to collect wet and dry garbage in all houses and move it to segregation and sheds, to clean internal roads, main roads, government institutions and utility companies, to identify low-lying areas and ensure that water does not accumulate, to identify and remove dilapidated buildings and structures and to level the area. He also said that abandoned wells and boreholes should be buried.
Pratima Singh suggested fogging, spraying sodium hypochlorite, putting oil balls in water wells and chlorinating drinking water sources to spread awareness about diseases like malaria and dengue due to mosquitoes. After visiting the dump yard, it was suggested that the old garbage should be powdered through bio-mining and sold to the required factories. Additional Collector Pratima Singh said that the dump yard area will be cleaned and there will be a chance to set up a park there.
Municipal Chairman Chandrapal, Market Committee Chairman B. Jagapathi, Municipal Commissioner Janaki Ram Sagar, 11th Ward Councillor Md. Samiuddin, Sanitary Inspector Mahesh and others were participated in this program.
