State Government to Launch Aarogyasri Digital Cards Initiative for Beneficiaries
Hyderabad : The State government has announced the launch of a new initiative to prepare and distribute digital cards under the Aarogyasri insurance scheme. This decision comes after Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s directive to increase the health insurance coverage for beneficiaries from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. To facilitate this process, an e-KYC initiative will be introduced, allowing the verification of beneficiary identities and residential addresses through Aadhaar verification.
In addition, a facial recognition system will replace the existing biometric system, with the necessary software set to be developed soon. The distribution of the digital cards will be carried out in collaboration with local public representatives. The meeting also highlighted plans to offer free Cochlear Implants surgery and rehabilitation for children with hearing impairments at MGM Warangal, along with the implementation of software to remotely monitor dialysis patients in government-run facilities. Furthermore, a special funding of Rs. 1.30 crore has been allocated to doctors at the ENT Koti hospital for their commendable efforts in performing numerous black fungus surgeries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
