Minister KTR Showcases Hyderabad’s Development to Maharashtra Delegation
Hyderabad(Sep, 16) : A delegation comprising 250 representatives from various real estate organizations in Maharashtra embarked on a three-day visit to Hyderabad, with a primary objective of studying the remarkable progress achieved by the state of Telangana, with a special focus on the development of Hyderabad city.
Upon their arrival, MA&UD Minister KTR warmly welcomed the delegation at T-Hub, where he delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the various transformative initiatives undertaken by the Government of Telangana over the past decade to elevate Hyderabad into a global city. Minister KTR underscored the impressive strides made across multiple sectors under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister KCR, emphasizing the city’s flourishing real estate sector and its continuous growth.
Minister KTR, in his address to the Maharashtra delegation, acknowledged the deep historical and cultural ties that bind the people of Telangana and Maharashtra, hailing from districts that once shared a part of the State of Hyderabad. He further shared his personal connection with Maharashtra, recalling his student days in Pune.
Reflecting on the journey of Telangana as a separate state, Minister KTR spoke of the initial apprehensions and challenges faced during its formation. However, he proudly highlighted the state’s remarkable progress over the past decade, with transformative policies and welfare schemes, successfully addressing critical issues such as electricity and drinking water supply. The Minister emphasized the government’s holistic, inclusive, and balanced approach to urban and rural development, recognizing the pivotal role of cities as economic growth engines.
Minister KTR lauded the world-class infrastructure developed in Hyderabad, a key factor in attracting investments, not only in the IT sector but also in life sciences and biotechnology. He noted Hyderabad’s achievement in surpassing Bengaluru in creating the highest number of IT jobs for consecutive years, as well as its leadership in IT exports and paddy production.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to administrative reforms and innovative policies such as TS-iPASS and TS-bPASS, Minister KTR revealed that Telangana has become a benchmark for other states. Delegations from across the country have visited Telangana to study its welfare schemes and policies, with Telangana often setting the precedent for India’s future endeavors.
Minister KTR reiterated the government’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure and public transport to meet the growing needs of Hyderabad, including plans for a 415-kilometer metro line and the construction of new flyovers, underpasses, and bridges under the SRDP program. He also pointed out that Hyderabad, after Mumbai, ranks second in terms of tall building constructions, and Mumbai has adopted Hyderabad’s Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme (CRMP).
Moreover, Minister KTR announced that Hyderabad is on track to become the first city in India to achieve 100 percent sewage water treatment. The government’s commitment to environmental conservation is further evident through the allocation of 10 percent of municipal funds to the green budget in every town across Telangana
