Hyderabad : The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has issued a red alert warning for Telangana, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall in several districts for the next three days until Friday, July 28. The districts covered by the red alert include Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy. Additionally, there is a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert (orange alert) for other districts such as Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jangaon, Siddipet, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mancherial, Nirmal, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, and Mahabubnagar.
Director of IMD-Hyderabad, Dr. Nagaratna, mentioned that Telangana is expected to experience widespread rainfall across most areas in the coming 4 to 5 days.
The red alert warning underscores the significance of taking precautionary measures and staying alert during this period of heavy rainfall, as it may lead to waterlogging, flooding, and potential risks to public safety and infrastructure.
