Hyderabad Police Task Force Apprehends Two Persons with 6 Kg of Ganja in Possession

Hyderabad(July, 1) : South-East Zone Task Force team of Hyderabad, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police P. RadhaKishan Rao, successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the possession and sale of ganja, a contraband narcotic drug. The accused were identified as Sunil Singh and Nanda Kishore Singh, also known as Kittu, who were habitual drug peddlers.

Sunil Singh, aged 28, was the owner of a pan shop and a Ganesh idol maker residing at H.No. 13-1-1236, Ganga Bowli, Upper Dhoolpet, Hyderabad. Nanda Kishore Singh, aged 29, worked as an electrician and a Swiggy delivery boy. He lived at H.No 13-5-158/31, Karwan, Asif Nagar, Hyderabad.

During the operation, the law enforcement officials seized a total of 6 kilograms of ganja from the possession of the accused. Sunil Singh was found with two packets of ganja, weighing approximately 4 kilograms and wrapped in brown-colored tape. Nanda Kishore Singh, on the other hand, had one packet of ganja weighing about 2 kilograms, also wrapped in brown-colored tape. Additionally, a Samsung phone belonging to Sunil Singh was also confiscated.

During questioning, Sunil Singh revealed that he purchased the ganja from Nanda Kishore Singh, also known as Chotu or Kittu, a resident of Dhoolpet. Acting on this information, the authorities apprehended Nanda Kishore Singh as well. Nanda Kishore Singh confessed that he had traveled to Sileru village in Vishakapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh, on 19th June 2023, and bought 6 kilograms of ganja from a villager named Vamshi for Rs. 24,000 (at a rate of Rs. 4,000 per kilogram). He sold 4 kilograms of the ganja to Sunil Singh on 29th June 2023 for Rs. 28,000 (at a rate of Rs. 7,000 per kilogram). He kept the remaining 2 kilograms of ganja at his house in Karwan, Asif Nagar, Hyderabad, intending to sell it at a higher price to interested customers and make illegal profits.

The joint operation involving the South-East Zone Task Force team, the Kulsumpura Police Station staff, and the Commissioner’s Task Force staff led to the successful apprehension of the accused individuals, Sunil Singh and Nanda Kishore Singh. The authorities have taken strict action against the offenders as per the relevant laws and regulations governing narcotics and drug-related offenses.
