Hyderabad : On one hand, Hyderabad is often regarded as one of the safest cities in India, known for its rich cultural heritage and a generally peaceful environment. The tragic incident where a customer was beaten to death inside a biryani restaurant on Sunday for a seemingly trivial request for extra raita is deplorable and deeply concerning. This incident not only highlights the grave consequences of unchecked violence but also presents a significant challenge to the local administration. It calls for urgent measures to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors while addressing underlying issues related to public safety and behavior.

The incident at Meridian restaurant in Punjagutta, where a customer was allegedly beaten to death over a dispute about extra raita for his biryani, has shocked the community. On that fateful Sunday evening, Liyaqat visited the restaurant for dinner, only to find himself in a heated argument with the staff when he requested additional raita for his biryani. The altercation escalated to a violent confrontation, resulting in Liyaqat being physically assaulted by the hotel staff.
The Panjagutta police promptly intervened, taking both parties to the police station for further investigation. Tragically, while Liyaqat was providing his statement to the police, he collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the nearby Deccan Hospital but, regrettably, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
