Hyderabad : On August 29th, 2023, YouWeCan, in partnership with WE HUB, orchestrated a significant breast cancer awareness event at WE HUB in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana. The primary objective of this event was to enhance awareness about breast cancer and educate women about the critical importance of self-breast examination in early detection.
Breast cancer is a prevalent and serious concern among women globally, and early detection plays a pivotal role in improving survival rates. YouWeCan, founded by the renowned Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has consistently been at the forefront of cancer awareness and advocacy. WE HUB, a government initiative in Telangana aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs and startups, provided an ideal platform for this vital awareness session.
The session was led by Dr. N. Geetha Nagasree, a distinguished Surgical Oncologist, who shared her expertise and insights on breast cancer awareness. Dr. Nagasree emphasized the importance of early detection, debunked myths, and provided practical guidance on self-breast examination techniques. Her engaging presentation equipped attendees with valuable information to recognize potential signs of breast cancer and take proactive steps toward their health.
Crucial to the SWASTH MAHILA SWASTH BHARAT campaign and the awareness session were the efforts of Dr. Rumana Sinha Sehgal, Goodwill Ambassador for YouWeCan, a prominent figure in healthcare and women’s empowerment. She delivered a detailed and insightful presentation on understanding and addressing the social and emotional aspects of individuals affected by cancer, stressing the significance of providing holistic support and fostering resilience throughout their journey.
Deepthi Ravula, CEO of WE Hub, is a visionary leader who has created a space for women to unlock their potential while cultivating a culture of strength and unity. She shared her own screening experience, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and risk mitigation. Beyond business, her leadership promotes health, awareness, and women’s entrepreneurship through innovation and collaboration.
Sofia Haseeb Siddiqui, the BRS Mahila President, graced the session as Chief Guest, sharing valuable thoughts. She encouraged individuals not to view cancer as a curse but as a curable condition with the right advice and examination. She emphasized the importance of proper consultation and counseling, pledging to work on an MOU with the government of Telangana for a pilot project in the state.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from women from diverse backgrounds who came together to gain knowledge, share experiences, and support each other in the battle against breast cancer.
