Traffic Rules Awareness Program Conducted for Army Battalion

Hyderabad : Today, on July 12, 2024, G. Shankar Raju, Assistant Commissioner of Police at the Traffic Training Institute in Begumpet, Hyderabad, delivered an impactful PowerPoint presentation on road accidents and their prevention. In the presence of his team and the 6th Madras Army Battalion from Bollaram, he emphasized that the prevention of road accidents is a shared responsibility.

He stressed the importance of adhering to traffic rules, highlighting severe penalties for violations such as driving without a license, which can result in a fine of up to Rs. 5000 and three months in jail. He urged everyone to obtain valid driving licenses and to always wear helmets, including passengers. He cautioned against signal jumping, particularly at red lights, and warned about the dangers of wrong-side driving.

Raju pointed out that reckless behaviors like overspeeding, taking wrong routes, signal jumping, using cell phones while driving, and general carelessness are major causes of accidents, especially among the youth. Colonel Abhishek Singh and around 200 army personnel attended this insightful session, where Raju also addressed various doubts and queries.
