Hyderabad : Revanth Reddy, the President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), recently spoke out against Chief Minister KCR and welcomed new members into the Congress party. He stated that joining the Congress party was not a common occurrence and that these new joinings were aimed at combating the “BRS infestation” in Telangana. According to Revanth Reddy, a rebellion against KCR has begun in the state, leading leaders from other parties to join the Congress. He described these inclusions as part of an anti-KCR political reunification effort.
During a media interaction after inviting Jupalli Krishna Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and their allies to join the Congress party in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy accused CM KCR of dashing the hopes of the people of Telangana. He emphasized that even after all these years, Telangana has not witnessed progress for anyone except the Kalvakuntla family. Revanth Reddy believes that the inclusion of Ponguleti and other leaders will pave the way for a brighter future for Telangana.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the contributions of Prof. Jayashankar, who played a significant role in the formation of Telangana and is revered as the Father of Telangana state. However, he expressed disappointment that the movement did not yield the desired results. Revanth Reddy criticized KCR’s administration, claiming that Telangana’s resources had been exploited for the benefit of the Kalvakuntla family, leaving the state as a mere political experiment.
Regarding the joinings, Revanth Reddy stated that he met Ponguleti and Jupalli as per the orders of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and extended an invitation to both of them to join the party. He emphasized that this marks the foundation for political reunification. Revanth Reddy expressed a positive response from Ponguleti and Jupalli regarding their decision to join the party. He also mentioned plans to discuss the political developments in Telangana with the party leadership, including Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi. Revanth Reddy announced an upcoming massive public meeting in Khammam to rally support.
Revanth Reddy expressed his belief that KCR’s influence in Telangana will diminish through the Khammam Sabha. He emphasized that these joinings are not ordinary, but rather have a greater intention attached to them – to benefit the people of Telangana. He revealed that many more individuals are prepared to join the Congress party at the appropriate time. Revanth Reddy asserted the need to activate the Congress party at the national level by winning 17 parliamentary seats in Telangana and expressed aspirations for Rahul Gandhi to assume the Prime Minister’s seat.
Additionally, Revanth Reddy criticized KCR for his alleged lack of attachment to Telangana and accused him of exploiting Telangana sentiment for personal gain. He stated that the joinings were a means to combat the “BRS infestation” in Telangana, referring to the prior associations of Jupalli, Gurnath Reddy, and Damodar Reddy with BRS (Bathula Rajender Singh). These individuals had joined BRS earlier with the aim of developing Palamuru district, but after nine years of KCR’s rule, they turned against him. Revanth Reddy asserted that Congress was the only party capable of ensuring the development of Palamuru district.
Revanth Reddy also commented on the current state of affairs in the state, citing the filing of UAPA cases against Haragopal and Vimalak
