Telangana Police is at the forefront of the country in preventing cyber crimes – DGP Anjani Kumar

Hyderabad : Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar has informed that Telangana Police is at the forefront of the country by taking strict measures to prevent cyber crimes and cyber safety. DGP Anjani Kumar spoke at an online conference on Cyber Security-2023 jointly organized by Global Counter Terrorism Council and Digital India from New Delhi.

Speaking on the topic of National Architecture for Cyber Space management by State Government, DGP Anjani Kumar said that Telangana is the first state to establish a Cyber Safety Bureau to investigate and prevent cyber crimes. Around 600 leading IT companies of the world including Microsoft have been established in Hyderabad and around 10 lakh IT oriented employees and professionals are here. It is mentioned that there are significant number of cyber literates in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

However, he said that cyber crimes have increased as is happening all over the world. It was explained that 2691 cyber-based cases were registered in Telangana state in 2019, 5024 in 2020, 10,303 in 2021 and 15,217 in 2022. It has been revealed that the Cyber Security Bureau has been specially formed to face the challenges in cyber security. It has been explained that 500 officers and staff have been appointed in this bureau which has been set up at the Integrated Command and Control Center in Banjara Hills. It has been revealed that Telangana Cyber Crime Coordination Center (T4C), which has already been established, is playing a vital role to control cyber crimes.
