Telangana Police Hosts First State-Level Duty Meet Since State Formation

Hyderabad : The Telangana State Police inaugurated the “Police Duty Meet 2024” on 16th October at the Vishwambhara Grounds, Telangana Police Academy (TGPA). This marks the first state-level duty meet since Telangana’s formation, with the previous one held in 2013 at Kakinada.

The event commenced with an impressive march-past of various units, showcasing discipline and unity. Presiding over the ceremony was Dr. Jitender, IPS, DGP, who officially launched the meet. The inauguration featured a symbolic release of balloons and pigeons by the dignitaries.

Shikha Goel, IPS, DG, CID, and Chairperson of the organizing committee, proudly welcomed attendees, emphasizing the significance of hosting this meet post-state formation. With over 400 participants, she underlined how the duty meet strengthens inter-unit collaboration and enhances officers’ skills, preparing them for modern-day challenges through the use of smart technology and innovative solutions.

Dr. Jitender, IPS, also lauded the organizing committee and highlighted the importance of the meet in fostering teamwork, collaboration, and excellence in law enforcement. He noted the participation of new units like TGNAB and TGCSB, and encouraged officers to use the event to assess and improve their performance.

A total of 13 teams from various police wings, including all districts, commissionarates, CID, TSNAB, Bureau, and Octopus, will compete across six flagship events, such as Scientific Aids to Investigation, Anti-Sabotage Checks, and Computer Awareness. Winners will represent Telangana at the All India Police Duty Meet in Ranchi, Jharkhand, in January 2025.

The event was attended by senior Police officers including Abilasha Bisht, IPS, Director, TGPA, M.M. Bhagawat, IPS, ADG L&O, Sanjay Kumar Jain, IPS, ADG, TGSP, Vijay Kumar, IPS, DG ACB, Y.Nagi Reddy, IPS, DG Fire Services, G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, CP Rachakonda,  and other senior police officers.
