Telangana Hosts Industrial Roundtable on Life Sciences Skilling

Hyderabad : The Department of Employment & Training (DET), Government of Telangana, in collaboration with the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), organized an Industrial Roundtable Conference on the Life Sciences Sector with the theme “Skilling Telangana for a Brighter Future.” This event is part of a six-roundtable series covering BFSI, Construction, Retail, Manufacturing, and IT & ITES sectors, running from March 7 to 21, 2025.

The conference focused on bridging skill gaps in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical sectors, ensuring alignment with industry needs. Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Dept. of Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the state’s efforts to revamp Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and integrate private sector participation in skill development.

The event featured panel discussions on industry expectations, government collaboration, and sustainable skill development, with participation from leading organizations such as Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Continental Hospitals, and Sai Life Sciences. Sectoral Committees will be formed to implement key takeaways from the roundtable, ensuring a structured approach to workforce training in Telangana.
