“How can Amit Shah make a statement on an issue which is pending in Supreme Court?: Dr Dasoju Sravan
Hyderabad: BRS senior leader censured Union Home Minister Amit Shah over latter’s announcement to revoke reservations for Muslim Minorities in Telangana. Lambasting Amit Shah over BJP’s stance on Muslim reservations issue, Dr Dasoju Sravan stressed that denying reservations to Muslims will only lead to further poverty and alienation among Minority community and lead to unrest in Telangana.
Dr Dasoju Sravan, an advocate of social justice, also mocked Amit Shah for saying that the reservations revoked from Minorities will be given to OBCs, stressing that its just a diverting tactic to sabotage Muslim reservations.
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that BJP will revoke 4 percent reservations for Muslims if voted to power in Telangana. It is another matter that BJP will never come to power in Telangana, but how can Amit Shah make a statement on an issue which is pending in Supreme Court? Is Amit Shah bigger than Courts and above Constitution? It is extremely callous that Amit Shah is misleading people in a sensitive and important issue that is subjudiced in the Apex Court,” said Dr Dasoju Sravan firing on Amit Shah.
BRS senior leader questioned the rationale behind BJP’s stance on Muslim reservations.
“It is only because of reservations that SC, ST and OBCs, who were oppressed for generations, have come into mainstream. Muslim reservations were also bought in to bring Muslims, who are in abject poverty and feeling neglected, into the mainstream,” pointed out Dr Dasoju Sravan.
“BJP time and again targets Muslims and allege that Muslims in certain parts of India are supporting anti-social elements. The only way to address the poverty and alienation of Muslim community is by assuring them that they are part of mainstream and sending clear signals that majority community is concerned about their well being. But the irresponsible and political motivated strategy of BJP to revoke reservations for Minorities will only lead to a orphaned feeling among Minorities and create resentment among them, which may potentially lead to unrest. Is this that BJP wants?” questioned Dr Dasoju Sravan expressing serious concern over revocation of Muslim reservations.
