Swift Action by Hyderabad Police Saves Kidnapped One-Year-Old Girl

Hyderabad : In a swift operation, Hyderabad Police successfully rescued a one-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Kachiguda Railway Station late on the night of August 27, 2024. The child was reported missing by her grandmother at 2:00 AM, leading to the registration of a kidnapping case under Crime No. 313/2024 U/s. 137(2) BNS at Kachiguda Police Station.

A total of six special teams, led by Inspector K. Chandra Kumar and including officers from Kachiguda, Amberpet, and Chilkalguda police stations, were formed to investigate the case. After examining 50 to 60 CCTV footages, the police apprehended the kidnapper, identified as Smt. Dasari Manjula, near Dabeerpura Railway Station within 12 hours of the crime.

The accused, a 29-year-old rag-picker from Kamareddy, kidnapped the child as an act of revenge against the victim’s mother. The successful operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officers, including DCP B. Bala Swamy, and was lauded by the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, for the team’s prompt and effective action.
