Hyderabad : On August 7, 2024, the Secunderabad Railway Police, in collaboration with RPF staff, successfully arrested Md. Parwej, the accused involved in the kidnapping of a minor girl from Secunderabad Railway Station on August 6, 2024. The accused, a 35-year-old man working at a chicken shop in Manikonda, Hyderabad, originally hails from Raipur, Narayanpur, Barahat in Banka district of Bihar.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 6, when Md. Gousia Begum, the complainant, took her two daughters to the station to travel to Jangaon. She seated her younger daughter, five-year-old Naira Begum, near a pillar by the toilets and left the station briefly to get food. Upon her return, she discovered that Naira was missing. After an extensive search throughout the station and surrounding areas, she reported the incident to the Secunderabad Railway Police on August 7 at 1:00 PM.
Based on the complaint, a kidnapping case was registered, and a special team was formed to investigate. The team reviewed CCTV footage from the station and identified a man, later revealed to be the accused, leading the young girl out of the station. Acting on a tip-off, the police traced the accused and the victim to Mehdipatnam, where they apprehended the suspect near the bus stand. Upon questioning, Md. Parwej confessed to the crime, stating that financial difficulties drove him to kidnap the girl with the intention of demanding a ransom.
The swift actions of B. Saieashwar Goud, IRP/SHO, and his team, under the supervision of Chandana Deepti IPS, Superintendent of Railway Police, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U), led to the safe rescue of the kidnapped girl and the apprehension of the accused. IGP Railway and Road Safety, K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS, commended the officers and personnel involved, announcing that they would be suitably rewarded for their commendable efforts.
