Secunderabad Railway Police Bust Major Ganja Smuggling Racket

Interstate Ganja Smuggling Operation Halted; 62 Kgs Seized

Hyderabad : Secunderabad Railway Police, in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force , conducted a surprise operation targeting drug peddlers at the Secunderabad Railway Station. During the operation, they apprehended Chand Kumar Nayak, a 30-year-old laborer from Ludru village in Gajapathi District, Odisha, who was found transporting 62 kilograms of dry ganja. The seized ganja, valued at approximately Rs. 15.5 lakhs, was intended to be delivered from Mohana, Odisha, to Nanded, Maharashtra.

The operation led to the arrest of Chand Kumar Nayak, while his accomplices, Mihir and Chida from Mohana village, and three unidentified individuals from Nanded, remain at large. The apprehension occurred at 10:30 AM on platform number 10, where Nayak was found in possession of two trolley suitcases and three shoulder bags filled with the illicit substance. The case has been registered under Cr.No.243/2024 U/s 8(c) r/w 20 (b) (ii) (C) of the NDPS Act.

The successful operation was executed under the supervision of Shaik Saleema, Superintendent of Police, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U). ADG Railway and Road Safety,  Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, commended the efforts of the officers involved, including B. Praveen Kumar, I/c SHO/RPS Secunderabad, and the RPF staff, and announced that they will be suitably rewarded for their commendable work.
