Secunderabad GRP & RPF Bust Snatching Gang, Recover Gold and Phones Worth ₹10 Lakh

Hyderabad : On November 5, 2024, the Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully apprehended a gang involved in multiple snatching cases, recovering gold ornaments and mobile phones valued at ₹10 lakh. Three habitual offenders and a juvenile were detained in connection with six snatching incidents in Secunderabad and Nalgonda. Additionally, a separate suspect was arrested for involvement in a theft case.

The main accused, identified as Orsu Venkanna (38), Orsu Naveen (25), and Orsu Ashok (30), along with a juvenile accomplice, were taken into custody. Another accused, Salman Mohammad Siddique (29), was apprehended for a separate theft. The total recovered property includes 131 grams of gold ornaments and three mobile phones.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Chandana Deepti, IPS, Superintendent of Railway Police, and DSRP S.N. Jawed, with appreciation for the operation extended by IGP Railway and Road Safety, K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS. The officers and staff involved will be rewarded for their dedicated efforts.
