Secunderabad : Padma Rani, a Chief Pharmacist in the Railway Department, passed away today at the Railway Hospital in Mettuguda, Secunderabad, due to illness. She was not only recognized for her professional contributions but also as a poet, writer, and cartoonist. In a heartfelt gesture, her family honored her memory by donating her corneas.
Ganji Eswara Lingam and Pallavol Ramana, founders of the Amma Eye, Organ, and Body Donation Promoters Association, along with Vasan Eye Bank, collected her corneas. They extended their gratitude to her husband Rambabu and daughter Ramya for their cooperation in this noble cause. On the occasion, they urged families to make eye donation a tradition to help brighten the lives of the blind.
