Police Must Work at the Level Expected by People: Telangana DGP Dr. Jitender
Hyderabad : Director General of Police Dr. Jitender IPS emphasized that police personnel must work at the level expected by the public to maintain and enhance trust in the policing system. Speaking at a meeting held at the DGP office on Saturday evening with Station House Officers (SHOs) from across Telangana, he said people approach police stations only when they face serious law and order issues, and solving these issues is key to building public confidence.
Dr. Jitender urged officers to uphold Telangana’s reputation, which holds the first position nationally in policing standards, by resolving citizens’ problems effectively. He highlighted the importance of initiatives like Dial 100 in ensuring police accessibility and stressed the need for thorough investigation to bring criminals to justice. The DGP also reminded that the police system, which has been in place for 165 years, must continually evolve to meet public expectations.
During the meeting, Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh M Bhagwat gave a presentation on tackling the menace of fake seeds, calling for strict action against offenders. AIG Ramana Kumar, DSP Satyanarayana, and other senior officials were also present.
