Hyderabad : Celebrated boxer Nikhat Zareen, a two-time world champion, officially joined the police force as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on Wednesday. Zareen, who hails from Nizamabad, submitted her joining report to the Director General of Police, Dr. Jitender, IPS. With accolades including a Commonwealth Games gold medal and a bronze at the Asian Games, Zareen also recently represented India at the Paris Olympics. Her appointment as DSP (Special Police) was made by the state government, and she received congratulations from Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, Additional DGP (Law and Order, Personnel), for her new role.
