Major Drug Bust at Secunderabad Railway Station; Four Bags of Ganja Recovered

Secunderabad : In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Secunderabad Railway Police seized 52 kilograms of dry ganja during a surprise check on Platform No.07 of Secunderabad Railway Station. The seizure, estimated to be worth ₹26,00,000, was made during a routine inspection led by D. Ramesh, Sub-Inspector, RPS Secunderabad, at approximately 2:30 PM.

Acting on the instructions of senior officers, the RPS team found four unattended bags near a food stall towards the Kazipet end of the platform. Upon investigation in the presence of mediators, the bags were found to contain 26 packets of ganja, each weighing around 2 kilograms.

A case has been registered under Cr.No.187/2025 U/Sec 8(c) r/w 20 (b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985 and Sec 106 BNSS. The contraband was seized by Sri R. Yellappa, In-Charge IRP/SHO, under the supervision of Chandana Deepti, IPS, Superintendent of Railway Police, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U).

IGP Railways and Road Safety, K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS, lauded the swift action of the team and announced that the officers involved will be rewarded for their commendable work.
