Hyderabad(Sep, 26) : BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has firmly addressed the recent decision made by the Governor to reject the names proposed by the state government for the nomination of two MLC posts in the Governor’s quota, highlighting the impact on BCs (Backward Classes). She emphasized that this move underscores the Bharatiya Janata Party’s stance as an anti-BC party. Kavitha expressed concern that the Governor’s decision goes against the principles of federalism, raising questions about whether the constitution of India or the BJP’s agenda is being followed. She lamented that governors in various states appear to be disregarding the rights and responsibilities of constitutional bodies, undermining the unity of purpose. Kavitha regretted the deviation from the tradition of governors approving state government proposals and the potential harm to BC communities.
Kavitha stressed that the rejection of the proposed names by the BJP-led Governor further solidifies the party’s anti-BC stance, as these nominations aimed to provide political representation to marginalized sections that have limited opportunities in direct elections. She called upon the public to observe and scrutinize the BJP’s approach to these matters.
Highlighting the importance of adhering to constitutional traditions to foster collaboration among different systems, Kavitha argued that such deviations only fuel negative discussions and discord. She criticized the Governor for perpetuating injustice against BC communities, contrasting it with her party’s efforts to uplift them while asserting that the BJP was taking an opposing stance.
