Iranian President Condemns Terror Attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Expresses Solidarity with India
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone, strongly condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. President Pezeshkian emphasized that such inhumane acts of terrorism increase the shared responsibility of regional countries to work together to eradicate the roots of terror and ensure lasting peace and harmony.
Highlighting the legacy of Indian leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, he expressed hope that the spirit of peace, friendship, and coexistence would continue to guide India’s relations with all nations. The Iranian President also stressed the importance of developing the Chabahar Port as a strategic hub for regional cooperation and invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Tehran. Prime Minister Modi thanked Iran for its solidarity and agreed on the need for collective action against terrorism. He also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port and assured India’s readiness to assist Iran. Both leaders discussed strengthening mutual economic ties and enhancing regional peace and stability.
