Hyderabad(July, 27) : In a successful operation, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of LB Nagar Zone, in collaboration with Saroor Nagar police, has apprehended two interstate drug peddlers, thereby thwarting a drug racket. The accused individuals, identified as Poonam Ram Bishnoi and Dinesh Kumar, were found in possession of 40 grams of Contraband Substance Heroine and 100 grams of Opium, along with other incriminating material. The seized contraband, valued at approximately Rs. 20 Lakhs in the international market, has been removed from circulation.
The accused duo, originally from Jalore district in Rajasthan, had been involved in the drug trade and had connections with a supplier named Dharma Ram. The police’s timely action led to the arrest of Poonam Ram Bishnoi and Dinesh Kumar, while efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding Dharma Ram. The authorities have issued a stern warning against drug-related activities, emphasizing that such offenses carry severe legal consequences, including imprisonment and, in certain cases, the death sentence.
The operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Commissioner of Police, D S Chauhan-IPS, and other dedicated officers from the Rachakonda police commissionerate.
