Ratan Tata, Visionary Industrialist and Philanthropist, Laid to Rest in Mumbai

Mumbai : Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata, revered for his visionary leadership and philanthropic initiatives, was laid to rest in Mumbai on Thursday following his passing at the age of 86. The chairman emeritus of the Tata Group died at Breach Candy Hospital, with Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran confirming the news.

On Thursday morning, Tata’s mortal remains were made available for public viewing at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), where numerous dignitaries, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, paid their last respects. Following a state funeral ceremony, Tata was cremated at Worli Crematorium in the evening. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced plans to confer the Bharat Ratna Award posthumously on Tata, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him as a compassionate leader and extraordinary human being. The Tata Group and prominent figures from the business community mourned the loss, emphasizing Tata’s lasting impact on India’s economy and society.
