Hyderabad : In a swift operation, Government Railway Police (GRP) Hyderabad in coordination with RPF Lingampalli arrested one person and recovered gold ornaments weighing about 200 grams, valued at approximately ₹20,00,000, at Lingampalli Railway Station on 26th June 2025.
Around 07:00 hrs, during routine checks at the station, a joint team led by B. Praveen Kumar, IRP Hyderabad, along with RHCs Narsing Rathod, A. Srinivas, RPCs Shakeel Pasha, Srinivas, and Ismail Shareef, noticed a person behaving suspiciously. The individual was taken into custody and identified as Balla Sagar Anil Kumar (32), a florist from Chandanagar, residing in Suraram, R.R. District.
Upon frisking, police found a golden brown pouch in his possession containing multiple gold ornaments. During interrogation, the accused admitted to having stolen a passenger’s luggage from B-4 coach of Train No. 07446 Lingampalli–Kakinada Special Express on 24th June 2025, shortly after the train passed Chandanagar Railway Station. The case is registered under Cr.No.101/2025 U/s 305(C) BNS at RPS Hyderabad.
The seized gold includes:

Two-row mangalsutra chain (56.6g),

Three pairs of gold bangles (89g),

Two black bead gold chains (25.56g and 21.57g),

One pair of gold ear studs with stones (6.97g).
The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Chandana Deepti, IPS, Senior Railway Police Secunderabad, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP/Secunderabad Urban. The accused is currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway.
