ADG Railway Mahesh Bhagwat IPS Leads Operation Smile Awareness Program at SP SRP Office
Hyderabad(Jan, 5) : On January 5, 2024, a significant event unfolded as the Operation Smile awareness programme was organized by ADG Railway, Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, at the SP SRP office in Secunderabad. The event drew the participation of various stakeholders, including RPF and labor department officers, CWC chairman and members, Childline 1098 staff, representatives from civil society organizations such as BBA and Prajwala, as well as SRP SP Salima IPS and GRP officers.
The focus of the program centered on a crucial discussion regarding the trafficking of children for child labor and prostitution, emphasizing the need for their rescue from trains and railway platforms. A key aspect of the conversation was dedicated to tracing missing children, addressing runaways, and orchestrating reunions with their parents, all conducted in adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
The collaborative efforts of these diverse entities underscored the collective commitment to combatting child exploitation and ensuring the well-being of vulnerable children within the railway environment.
