CYBER FRAUDSTER ARRESTED FOR DUPING THE VICTIMS IN THE NAME OF PROVIDING JOBS IN CENTRE FOR CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY (CCMB), HYDERABAD

Hyderabad(April, 19) : Cyber Fraudster Anduri Praveen Kumar, 37 years old arrested from Kistareddypeta, Sangareddy for duping the victims in the name of providing jobs in centre for cellular & Molecular biology (CCMB),Cr.No. 187/2023 Of Cyber Crime PS, Rachakonda. Two Smart Mobile phones (I-Phone and Samsung) seized.

The complainant who is the employee of Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad reported that, an unknown person pretending to be CCMB director created a fake mail id as “director.ccmb.res.in@gmail.com” with an intention to explicit gullible job aspirants. During the course of Investigation, the IO J. Narender Goud Inspector of Police has collected crucial evidence from Network Service Providers and from others, finally it was found that the offence committed by the cyber offender Anduri Praveen Kumar. Then the IO and his team were in searching of him, based on technical data, his whereabouts found in Sangareddy District. The IO and his team identified and apprehended the accused, during the interrogation, the accused confessed his guilty and admitted that he committed the offence. Further he was issued with 41 CrPC Notice. The accused Anduri Praveen Kumar after completion of his BSc Biotechnology and worked as Chemist in Vijayawada .Thereafter he worked as Radiographer in Hyderabad till 2021, during the COVID-19 he lost his job and became jobless. Then the accused decided to earn money easily in the way of fake job offers. As he was a biotechnology student and having some experience in that field, he selected CCMB,

Hyderabad for cheating the gullible job aspirants in the name providing jobs. As per
his plan he created a fake Linked in account on the name of Pranay Chowdary, Senior
Research Scientist of CCMB , the accused used to chat with some job aspirants and
offered them of some research assistant contract posts in CCMB. When one women
aspirant from Karnataka came in contact with him on LinkedIn, he introduced himself
as Research Project Scientist of CCMB, Hyderabad and promised her to provide the
post of Project Associate. To make her believe, the accused created a Gmail ID :
director.ccmb.res.in@gmail.com and sent offer letter to her offering her the position
of full time Project Assistant at cancer cell therapy with a monthly salary of
Rs.33,000/-CTC on contract basis and asked her to report her before Administration
department at CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad. Before it, Accused collected some money
from her. Likewise he created IDs on fake names as
1. novartis.hyderbad.hr@gmail.com, 2. novartishr.hyderabad@gmail.com,
3)tcshyd.careers@gmail.com, etc and cheated some of job aspirants across India and
collected petty amounts from them in the name of application and process fee etc.
After committing the frauds, the accused stopped to respond to the victims. Actually
the accused was collecting petty amounts from the Job aspirants, having thought they
never give complaint for petty amounts, but he had a plan of collecting huge amount
from the them, but mean time the victim got suspicion about his activity and reported
same to the Director, CCMB, The Director was also received similar allegations against
the alleged linkedin profile.

Under the direct supervision and leadership of D.S. Chouhan, IPS,
Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, under the guidance of Smt. Dr. B.Anuradha,
IPS, DCP Cyber Crimes and G.Venkatesham, ACP Cyber Crime PS Rachakonda,
Inspector J.Narender Goud, Sri.Parameshwar, Sub-Inspector and their team
identified the accused and detected the case.
