Criticism of Modi’s Governance: TPCC Secretary’s Remarks on Economic Challenges

Hyderabad : In a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 2nd, Mohd. Saleem, Secretary of TPCC, hailed the enduring legacy of these leaders. He emphasized how Gandhi’s teachings of non-violence, respect for humanity, and equal rights for all had led India to its hard-won independence without bloodshed. Lal Bahadur Shastri’s bravery and his slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” were also acknowledged.

However, Saleem expressed concern that the BJP, under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, seemed to diverge from the principles of these great leaders. He criticized their governance for economic challenges, inflation, unemployment, and the mishandling of key policies like demonetization, lockdown, and GST. Saleem argued that Modi’s administration favored certain associates while causing hardship for ordinary citizens.

Saleem further noted that the BJP had played a divisive role in India, imposing restrictions on religious practices and targeting specific communities. Policies such as the ban on beef, cow protection, Triple Talaq, CAA, and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir were cited as examples of this division.

In his view, the BJP’s leadership had succeeded in dividing the nation along ideological lines, with some following Gandhian principles and others leaning towards the ideology of Nathuram Godse. He credited this division to the influence of RSS, BJP, Modi, Amit Shah, and other key figures in Indian politics
