Hyderabad(Sep, 3): During a recent gathering, Krishna Sharma, the general secretary of the Central Peace Committee, fondly recalled the committee’s four decades of dedicated service. Zonal presidents and other office bearers emphasized the vital role of unity in a city’s progress. They acknowledged that maintaining law and order and fostering peace have been driving forces behind the state and city’s advancements in various aspects.
CP Anand, in his address to the peace committee members, encouraged constructive dialogues with locals and addressing issues related to disputed sites, hatred, and misinformation on social media.
Anand proposed that the composition of zonal and police station-level peace committees should align with the specific problems reported in their respective areas to swiftly address issues. He urged members to work diligently, be messengers of peace, and earn respect in their communities. Police officers sought cooperation in raising awareness about drug abuse, women’s safety, traffic, and cybercrime.
In closing, Anand emphasized the need for ongoing cooperation among all community members. He noted that while only a small fraction might attempt to disrupt the peace, the collective efforts of the majority can effectively counter such disruptions.
The meeting featured insights from Vikram Singh Mann, Addl. CP (Law & Order) and peace committee chairman, Viswaprasad, Addl. CP SB, and Zonal DCPs, who provided detailed guidance on precautions to be taken at pandals and procession points.
