Hyderabad :Â The Congress Party in Telangana is making a surprising comeback after it seemed almost extinct in the state. Some believed that its revival was impossible, but Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra brought about a significant change. Revanth Reddy took over as the President of the Telangana Congress, and Rahul Gandhi’s visit boosted the party’s popularity.
An important meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) is scheduled in Hyderabad on September 17th, along with a massive rally in Tukkuguda on the outskirts of the city. Prominent leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Kharge will participate. The CWC, the highest decision-making body of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), will strategize for upcoming assembly elections in five states, including Telangana. Congress members and leaders are dedicated to making this rally a success.
The growing popularity of Congress in Telangana and the upcoming rally have made not only the BJP but also the ruling party, BRS, a bit nervous. K. Kavitha, MLC from BRS in Nizamabad, criticized the Gandhi family before the CWC meeting. She mentioned that while the Congress is holding a meeting in Hyderabad, they have made several announcements for Telangana, but many of these plans have already been implemented.
There’s also a political tug-of-war for the Muslim vote bank. BRS believes they will secure the Muslim votes due to the benefits Muslims have seen under KCR’s government. However, former Congress minister Shabir Ali claims that this time, Muslims will support the Congress. The true strength of these claims will become clear after the upcoming assembly elections.
