“Unemployment Looms as Media Channels Depart Hyderabad for Noida”
“Relocation Woes: 300 Workers at Risk of Losing Jobs as Channels Move”
“Telugu Workforce Faces Uncertainty as Hindi, Urdu Channels Relocate”
Hyderabad : After a long time, a significant shift is occurring in the media industry as channels are relocating from Hyderabad to Noida. The impending shift of News18 Group’s Hindi regional channel from Hyderabad to Noida NCR within the next two months is generating significant stress and challenges for its workforce. The relocation has raised concerns among employees who are facing uncertainties regarding their jobs and livelihoods. The affected channels primarily broadcast in Hindi, Urdu, and Oriya, and have a technical and administrative workforce, mainly consisting of Telugu people. Unfortunately, these workers receive salaries ranging from 20 to 30 thousand, which might not be enough to sustain a move to Noida. Consequently, many are faced with the difficult situation of potential unemployment. The editorial staff, on the other hand, is largely composed of North Indians.
As a result of this relocation, approximately 300 workers are at risk of losing their jobs. So far, there has been no indication of any compensation plan from the company. This uncertainty is causing significant stress and anxiety among the employees, especially those who are reluctant to leave Hyderabad and Telangana. For many, Telangana has provided a sense of security, and they have relied on the region’s law and order. However, with the impending relocation, these individuals are now facing the possibility of unemployment, leaving them in a challenging position.
