Siddipet : The new District Jail in Siddipet was inaugurated on March 22, 2026, at Msanpally village by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s correctional infrastructure. The event was attended by several ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, public representatives, and senior officials. Developed under the guidance of Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services Dr. Soumya Mishra, the facility is part of the government’s initiative to upgrade sub-jails into full-fledged district jails.

Spread over 32 acres, the modern jail is equipped with advanced security systems, a high-security enclosure, hospital, administrative block, separate women’s wing, kitchen and dining facilities, workshops, industrial units, and rehabilitation-focused amenities such as a school, library, multipurpose hall, and legal aid clinic. With a capacity of 415 inmates, including dedicated space for 50 women prisoners, the jail aims to reduce overcrowding and improve living conditions.

A key highlight is the “Swastik Model High-Security Barrack,” designed for enhanced surveillance and efficient inmate management. The facility also includes watchtowers, surveillance systems, secure boundary walls, and staff quarters, with 66 personnel ensuring smooth operations. The Siddipet District Jail reflects Telangana’s commitment to a modern, secure, and reform-oriented correctional system with a focus on rehabilitation and humane inmate management.
