Secunderabad : An interstate ganja smuggling racket operating from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to Delhi was busted by the Government Railway Police (GRP) Secunderabad in coordination with the EAGLE team (TGANB) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). During a joint surprise checking drive with the help of a sniffer dog at Secunderabad Railway Station on December 17, 2025, two male ganja peddlers were apprehended while transporting 44.854 kg of dry ganja worth about ₹22.42 lakh. The accused were intercepted at Platform No. 1 while attempting to travel onward to Delhi. Investigations revealed that the duo had procured the contraband from Vizianagaram on the instructions of a Delhi-based kingpin, who is currently absconding.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Chandana Deepti IPS, Supdt. of Railway Police and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U). IGP Railway and Road Safety K.Ramesh Naidu, IPS appreciated the officers and men of GRP Secunderabad, Eagle team (TGANB) & RPF and they will be rewarded suitably.
