Interstate Ganja Smuggling Racket Busted at Secunderabad Railway Station, One Accused Arrested with 12.318 Kg of Ganja
Hyderabad : In a major crackdown on interstate drug trafficking, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB), and Railway Protection Force (RPF) Secunderabad jointly busted a ganja smuggling racket on 17th April 2025 at Secunderabad Railway Station. During a surprise checking operation, the teams apprehended an accused, Sameera Bishoyi (31), a resident of Ganjam District, Odisha, with 12.318 kg of dry ganja worth ₹6,15,900, which was being smuggled from Berhampur to Dadar in Maharashtra. The prime accused, Munna Nayak of Gajapati District, Odisha, is currently absconding.
The two accused had boarded the Konark Express and planned to continue to Maharashtra via Devagiri Express to avoid detection. However, the swift action by the police led to the seizure of the contraband and arrest of A-2. The operation was executed under the supervision of Chandana Deepti, IPS, SP Railway Police, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP Secunderabad. The efforts of the GRP, TGANB, and RPF teams were highly appreciated by K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS, IGP Railway & Road Safety.
