Hyderabad : The Secunderabad Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have successfully busted an interstate ganja smuggling racket, arresting a 36-year-old agricultural laborer, Laxman Sambhaji Mogal, from Pune, Maharashtra, on February 3, 2025. Mogal was caught transporting 56.285 kilograms of dry ganja worth ₹14,07,125 on a train from Chatrapur, Odisha, to Pune.
The authorities apprehended him at Secunderabad Railway Station during a surprise check. Mogal had been lured into the illegal trade by his contact, Manoranjan Das, promising ₹5,000 per trip. His arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the GRP and RPF to combat drug trafficking through the railway network.

Lavanya RPF Woman Constable 5821/RPF Shakti team, Vandana Singh, RPF Woman Constable 483/RPF Shakti team, Madhuri Singh, RPF Woman Constable 492/RPF Shakti team, KM Sudha, RPF Woman Constable 438/RPF Shakti team apprehended the accused under the supervision of Chandana Deepti IPS, Supdt. of Railway Police and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U).
