Hyderabad Metro, Musi River Restoration & Key Projects Neglected in Union Budget !
Hyderabad : In a scathing response to the Union Budget 2025, Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has accused the Centre of blatant discrimination against the state. Despite Telangana contributing 5% to the national GDP and remitting ₹26,000 crore in taxes, the state has been sidelined in the latest budget, with no allocation commensurate with its economic strength.
Minister Babu highlighted that while states like Bihar, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh have received generous allocations, Telangana’s pleas for financial aid—such as ₹1.63 lakh crore for infrastructure projects—have been ignored. Key demands, including funding for the Hyderabad Metro Phase-2, Musi River rejuvenation, and essential irrigation projects, were flatly rejected.
The minister also criticized the Centre for not fulfilling promises made under the AP Reorganization Act, such as establishing key institutions and improving railway connectivity. Telangana, Babu said, will no longer tolerate this neglect and demands its rightful share in national progress.
